On Saturday 2nd September the 7th annual Northern Rivers Food Sample Food Festival was held at the Bangalow showground. The perfect spring weather brought plenty of people and the event was awash with a wide variety of quality food.
TNR staff member Aveley McCann was on hand to volunteer in the running of the Mayors cook off with locally sourced food supplied by members of Northern Rivers Food. Mayors from Lismore, Byron, Tweed, Kyogle and Richomd Valley played apprentice to chefs from local restaurants.
Duties of the Volunteers included cleanup, some simple preparation and plating up as well as handing our samples of the delicious dishes to the crowd, who voted on the dishes.
Lismore Mayor Issac Smith with Yves from Palate at the Gallery took out the first round against Kyogle Mayor Danielle Mulholland. The second round saw Richmond Valley Mayor Robert Mustow take out the win against Byron Shire Mayor Simon Richardson and Tweed Shire Mayor Katie Milne.
