On Friday 7th July we took a well deserved break to celebrate the End of Financial Year (EOFY). Our staff Social Committee organised a buffet lunch at the Lismore Workers Sports Club. This was followed by a relaxing afternoon of activities that staff were free to move between at their leisure.
The sun came out just in-time for the afternoon activities, which we very appreciative of.
Tennis was a hotly contested sport. Particularly the Partner v Partner match and the Audit team doubles match
Lawn bowls was a more relaxed affair. The bowlers from the local club were very welcoming and patient as they taught us the rules and techniques of the sport.
Inside we had some board games and cards setup. Scrabble was the popular choice and staff played a few singles games, before the spectators started to build and a teams game followed. The dictionary had to be consulted on at least one occasion…
A fun activity that we all attempted for the first time was soy wax candle making. One of our accountants Karen has a hidden talent of candle making, so we borrowed her skills and trained up Tanya from TNR Wealth Management to run the activity for the afternoon. Staff were able to choose from a range of glass jars and teacups, together with a colour and fragrance to craft their own creation. A very enjoyable experience!
All in all a great afternoon to cap off another busy financial year.
