Staff recently stepped away from their keyboards to take a well deserved break for the End of Financial Year (EOFY). Once again we busted open the notion that accountants are boring and anti-social for a day on the coast.
The morning started with an amazing race style of activities. Teams split into small groups and collected points attempting different activities setup on the grassed area adjacent to the beach at Lennox Head including:
- 5 a side soccer
- Hula Hoop competition
- Doing a puzzle as a team, blindfolded
- Marshmallow & spaghetti tower building competition
- Brain teaser sheets
- Lennox based trivia
- Photo scavenger hunt
- Make a sand sculpture
- Make the letters TNR using only your bodies
- Navigate your team member blindfolded through a set course
Despite the on and off sprinkling of rain, everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves and the efforts of the social committee were very much appreciated. The winners for the day were John Dwyer’s team who each received a Coles Myer voucher for their efforts. There were a few honourable mentions for the day including Jodie from the audit team for her Hula Hooping abilities, one of the Audit teams for their TNR body sculpture and John Dwyer’s team who were especially enthusiastic.
We sat down for a buffet lunch at the Lennox Head Hotel which was top quality and delicious. After lunch, staff had the choice of one of three activities which included: Golf at East Ballina, Ten Pin bowling in Ballina and a guided tour with Lou and Matt of the new Seven Mile Brewing co located next to the Ballina airport.
Thanks to Ballina Tenpin Bowl, Ballina Golf Club, Seven Mile Brewing Co, Lennox Hotel and Blanch’s bus company for a great day!
